Unbelievable

Just two weeks and two days until the next SDF school begins. I hope all you students out there are cramming those movies in. And if you still want to apply, it's never too late. It's one of the best schools in YWAM but then I would say that because I've done it myself. It's such a relevant course in today's society, giving you the skills to tell stories and opening up a host of opportunities in the entertainment industry. And speaking of stories, we've been filming An Unbelievably True Story.…See More

The New Boy

Spencer! that's the name we've chosen for our newest recruit. However, Spencer has yet to cut his teeth. He's the new boy, the posh kid that can do everything better than anyone else... and that's why he gets to sit in the corner. Needless to say, Spencer is a dual quad core PowerMac with 6Tb of hard drive and 8Gb of RAM.It's only 4 weeks to go before our next School of Digital Filmmaking begins. Jason is up to his ears in prep work and actually most of that is for MAD, but anyway, new…See More

Busy

Well, what an eventful couple of weeks. Here in The Initiative's studio the rough cut of The Bus Stop is nearing completion. Proby has been fixing an interactive kiosk that we have on the base. I've been digitally inserting our new logo into some video clips to replace our old logo in said kiosk. Charis has been up to her ears in marketing and promotional work and Josh came down with appendicitis - no doubt it will inspire another amazing story from this writing genius, whose script has just…See More

Movies, movies and more movies!

Top mention this week has to go to the shoot for Jason's short film, "The Bus Stop". Principal cinematography is now complete. We spent 14hrs filming on a city bus - through the night. The bus was delivered to our property at about 5.30pm on a Friday, just as the sun was going down. A couple of hours later everything was ready on set for the first take of the night. Many, many takes later, after lots of coffee and carbs the sun began to emerge. The race was on to get the last few shots before…See More

I'm a doctor, Jim, not a roller skate!

We're back in production mode. "The Bus Stop" began it's first day of shooting yesterday. By all accounts everything went smoothly, thanks to Jason's expert directing and the many extra crew members who have come on board - we couldn't be doing this without you, not to mention our actors/actresses who are returning some fantastic performances. The Bus Stop is is a non-verbal romantic comedy from the creative mind of writer/director Jason Solari . We're so excited to be producing this project;…See More

Yeah. YWAM actually has an adoption ministry and we may use them. At least you'd have "some" understanding of the lifestyle.

Maybe. We are looking to adopt and need a bit of stability for that. But you never know.

Over here at YWAM Curitiba, what I can say to you is that we have filmmaking opportunities more connected to SHORT MOBILIZATION VIDEOS directed to the CHURCH, YOUTH and other interested to know more about what is going on at the Mission Field in general. Is something to help the Mobilization work!! As also, I guess that the DOCUMENTARY filmmaking gender is other opportunity, once that we have very dangerous and addicted slums (or poor-communities) around the Campus. But, of course that, any help, any project to document and register stuffs audio-visually are welcomed!! Thanks for answering so fast, guys!! Blessings!! And please, put us in contact with the Brazilian Student!!! We work here also with the YWAM Brazil Communication Team!! So, it would be nice to hear a Brazilian UofN 2nd level student opinion about how was for him to attend a 2nd level Communication School abroad!! Maybe he or she may encourage others to not give-up dreams or ministries in despite of the different language or anything else alike!! Blessings!!! In Him and for Him, Saulo.

Thanks for adding me as a friend! Now, let's pray and think about you bringing here an outreach team!! We are at the South of Brazil (YWAM Curitiba Campus) and it would be such a wonderful blessing to have you with us "storytelling" everyone about Jesus's transformational love!! =D
